Mrs. Christine Delane Helms Tadlock, age 79, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Elizabethan Gardens Rest Home.

Graveside services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1901 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 12: 45 PM Saturday at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112, prior to the graveside ceremony.

In their earlier years, Junior and Christine owned and operated Carmel Grocery Store at 200 South and Plyler Mill Road. Christine also worked with Allen Overall and Comar.

Mrs. Tadlock was born on January 16, 1938, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Paul Helms and the late Atha Griffin Helms Plyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Junior Tadlock on November 12, 2016.

Survivors include her daughter Valerie Lorraine Lowery of Monroe, NC; her half brothers Barnes Plyler (Kay) of Monroe, NC and Charles Plyler (Peggy) of Pageland, SC; her two grandsons Jason Underwood and Jonathan Underwood both of Monroe, NC; and her two great grandchildren .
