Mrs. Flora Dallas Griffin, age 90, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Monday, April 18, 2017, at Brookdale Monroe Square Assisted Living Center.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Davis Funeral Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112, officiated by Reverend Roger Nance. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.

Mrs. Griffin was born on January 11, 1927 in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Sam Henry Ashley and the late Jennie Ghant Ashley.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her late husband Walter Johnson Griffin, a grandson Mark Griffin, a brother, Bobby Ray Ashley and a sister, Jeanette Nations.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son Walter J. Griffin, Jr. and fiancée Pam Irene Perry of Monroe; three sisters, Sennia Wilson of Abbeville, SC, Mildred Phillips of Indian Trail, NC, and Brenda Ashley Hill and husband Ryan Hill of Wingate, NC.

There are six grandchildren, Chas Griffin, Marcie Padgett, Ashley Tanksley, Justin Griffin, Katie E. Griffin and Rachel Griffin. There are numerous great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2017, at Davis Funeral Home in Monroe.
