Mr. H. John “Pinky” Brandel, age 74, of Wingate, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016, at his residence.

Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday May 21, 2016 at Faulks Baptist Church, 2234 Faulks Church Road, Marshville, NC, 28103.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brandel was born on March 30, 1942, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late John Jacob Brandel and Eleanor Barber Brandel.

He was also preceded in death by the mother of the children, Sheila Madden Lehmann.

John was a District VP of Alltel Communications with over 20 years of dedicated service. He was also a Marine Veteran.

Survivors include his two daughters, Shauna Smith and husband Richard Smith of Wingate, NC, and Shannon Greene and husband Christopher Greene of Monroe; a sister, Barbara Ann Brandel of Clemmons, NC; four grandsons, Phillip Matthew Smith and Jaxon Myers Smith both of Wingate, NC and Joseph Christopher Greene and Alex Lee Green both of Monroe, NC; two granddaughters, Peightyn Sway Smith of Wingate, NC and Savannah Rose Greene of Monroe. There are two nieces, Melody and Tammy.

The family will receive friends Friday (May 20, 2016) from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
