Mrs. Mable Price Starnes Medlin, age 84, of Lancaster, South Carolina, formerly of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Corinth Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend John Jenkins and Reverend Frank Crump. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Medlin was born on October 24, 1932, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late John Isaac Blair Price and Annie Lenora Godfrey Price. She was retired from K-Mart.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years, Willie Starnes. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Paul Ray Helms, two brothers, Paul Price and Clyde Price; and one sister, Grace Price Carter.
Survivors include her husband, Kemp Medlin of the home; two sons, Gary Starnes and wife, Sandy, and Jimmy Starnes, all of Monroe; three daughters, Joyce Helms, and Sharon Stroud and husband, Boyd, all of Monroe, Janet Starnes and husband, Danny, of Peachland; ten grandchildren, Rebecca Starnes, Megan Maske and husband, Adam, Jessica Helms and fiancé, Monty Rea, Samuel Helms, Andy Starnes and wife, Jordan, Xan Starnes, and fiancé, Joseph Caldwell, all of Monroe, Beth Jones and husband, Shane, of Jefferson, South Carolina, Jillian Tucker and husband, Clint, of Unionville, Danielle Harris and husband, John, and Monica Delimata and husband, Darrin, all of Raleigh. There are twenty-two great-grand- children, Jessica Starnes, Christian Barbour, Aaliyah Barbour, Dexton Barbour, Trustin Barbour, Kassidy Barbour, William Peer, Taylor Dreisbach, Walker Burrows, Chandler Jones, Isaac Jones, Cheyenne Maske, Jackson Maske, Gracie Tucker, Landon Tucker, Addison Helms, Aubryn Helms, Axton Rea, Anderson Rea, Maeleigh Delimata, Aidan Delimata, and Waylon Starnes. There are also 2 great-great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her brother, Robert Price of West Columbia, South Carolina, and her sister, Lib Shermann of Eatonton, Georgia. She is also survived by her husband’s children, Neal Medlin and wife, Kathy, of Indian Trail, Jimmy Medlin and wife, Deborah, Kenneth Medlin and wife, Cindy, all of Monroe, Shirley Hughes and husband, Jerome, of Lancaster, South Carolina, and Daisy Baucom of Pageland, South Carolina.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 23, 2017, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home at 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
