Mr. Matthew David Watson, age 26, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 23, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM.  Immediately following the visitation, a Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Davis Funeral Chapel.

David was born on April 29, 1990, in Union County, a son of the late Herbert Watson, Jr. and the late Betsy Gosa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother Barbara Gosa, his grandfather James Gosa, and his grandfather, Herbert Watson, Sr.

David was a talented self-taught artist. He loved to draw, make rap music, and was a self-employed handyman.

Survivors include three sisters, Amanda Simpson of Pageland, SC, Jessica Andino of Nicholls, GA, and Brittany Huggins of Reidsville, GA; his three brothers Cody Watson of Beaufort, SC, Desmond Kirkley and James Chambers both of Wadesboro, NC; his grandmother, Carole Reese of Coldwater, Michigan; his uncles and aunts, Matthew Rucker of Munising, Michigan, Thomas Watson (Betty Jean) of Bronson, Michigan, Lisa and Susan Watson of Monroe, Connie Watson (Rick Guthrie) Rocky Point, NC; his nieces Brianna Simpson and Arianna Howard both of Pageland, SC; and his nephew De’ovian Howard of Pageland, SC.
