Mr. Richard “Doc” Dalton Brantley, age 84, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Woodridge Assisted Living Center.

Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Love Baptist Church, 707 Deese Road, Monroe, NC  28110, officiated by Reverend Don Thompson and Reverend Evan Thompson.  Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Mr. Brantley was born on May 22, 1933, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late John G. Brantley and the late Cordie Helms Brantley.  He was a retired machinist with Manetta Mills with 40 years of dedicated service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother J.C. Brantley.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Kay Kerley Brantley of Monroe; and his two brothers Gene Brantley Sr. of Monroe and Charles Brantley of Statesville.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, September 5, 2017, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service at Love Baptist Church.
