The late H. Vann Davis, Jr. and his wife, Mary, founded Davis Funeral Service, Inc. as second careers, on the principle that they wanted to provide a ministry of caring to all who called in their time of greatest need. They believed everyone was entitled to a dignified, reverent, and respectable funeral service. No one is ever denied a proper service due to financial constraints.
Vann was a retired owner of a manufacturing plant, and was very involved in the Masons, Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Shriners. He was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of Florida.
Mary was a retired educator, who spent her life as a volunteer. She was involved with the Union County Nursing Advisory Committee, Monroe Rotary Club where she received "The Paul Harris Fellow" designation, and Central United Methodist Church, where she served as Sunday School Teacher, usher, greeter, Visitor's Booth volunteer, member of the Administrative Board, and past chairperson of the Evangelism Committee.
