Mrs. Anne Spivey Stover, of Matthews, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Plantation Estates in Matthews, NC
Visitation for Mrs. Stover will be held from 6:30 – 8: 00 PM Thursday, August 02, 2018, at Davis Funeral Service, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
A graveside service honoring Anne’s life will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 3, 2018 at Wingate City Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Ron Glover.
Anne was born October 4, 1923 in Newport News, Virginia, the daughter of the late Claude Jordan Spivey and Mattie Duck Spivey. In addition to being an active member of her church and community, Anne provided 28 years of dedicated service to Wingate University as the Registrar.
Survivors include her son, Mark Stover and wife Liz of High Point, NC, her grandson, Andrew Stover and wife Sheila of Charlotte, NC, and her four great-grandchildren; Olivia Stover, Hudson Stover, Jackson Stover, and Sofia Stover.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stover was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William L. Stover, her brother, Sherwood Spivey, a sister, Louise Moore, and a sister, Doris Wells.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Anne's honor be made to the Wingate Baptist Church, 109 E Elm St, Wingate, NC 28174
