Barbara was born February 22, 1942 in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late Carl Purser and Maybel Williams Purser. Throughout her life, Barbara worked in the textile industry, and spent many years in quality control. Known for a smile that would light up a room and a voice that always had something to say, Barbara came from a large family that she enjoyed talking with anytime she had the opportunity. She also loved the outdoors, and whether she was going to the beach, fishing, or working in her garden, Barbara always took the time to enjoy the beauty of God's creation. Barbara was an avid animal lover who had many dogs, and had a heart for taking care of the cats that would show up on her property. Above all else, Barbara loved her family. Her time spent with her children and grandchildren was something that she deeply cherished, and she will be warmly remembered and greatly missed by her loved ones.
Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Neal Pressley, a son, Johnny Haigler and wife Lisa, a son, Todd Haigler and wife Leigla, a daughter, Kim Whitehead and husband Jonathan, six sisters; Ruth Courtney, Lib Couick and husband Jerry, Sue Lowder and husband Jerry, Joyce Tarlton and husband Buford, Elain Starnes, Darlene Bragg and husband Jimmy, two brothers; Dave Purser and wife Leah, Doug Purser and wife Robin, and her grandchildren; Meghan Haigler, Mckayla & Smith Haigler, Anna Haigler, Samantha Whitehead, and Amanda Whitehead.
