Mr. C.A. "Tater" Williams Jr., age 78, of Monroe, NC, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe, NC.
The family will receive friends and loved ones between 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Davis Funeral Service, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112.
Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Williams will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Road, Monroe, NC, 28110 officiated by Pastor Travis Hutchinson, Rev. John Gallagher, and Rev. Art Stone.
Interment will follow the service at the Shiloh Advent Christian Church Cemetery.
C.A. was born April 2, 1940, in Union County, NC, a son of the late Cleamon Aaron Williams Sr. and Dora Drake Williams. C.A. began his long and successful career in the manufacturing and welding supply industry when he began working for Jackson Products as the youngest salesman hired to cover the southeast. His career continued with National Welders before founding Wholesale Welding Supplies, the first of many business ventures he played a pivotal part in. With a mind for business and a heart for the Lord and his family, C.A. never met a stranger, and his warm and charismatic personality led him to make friends everywhere he went. C.A. had an ability to connect with people of all ages, and was not only a role model but a dear friend to the younger generations. He valued his relationships with his siblings dearly, and equally valued their love for him. C.A. is warmly remembered by his loved ones as man who always gave the best advice, with a constant dedication to his family.
C.A. is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty Williams, a son, Eric D. Williams and wife Rhonda of Monroe, NC, a son, Byron V. Williams of Asheville, NC, a sister, Helen Clayton of Monroe, NC, a brother, John W. Williams and wife Mary of Monroe, NC, a brother, Danny Williams and wife Bonnie of Monroe, NC, four grandchildren; Clay Dunn, Alanna Dunn, Rebecca Ratliffe, Thomas Ratliffe, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In addition to his parents, C.A. was preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Howard, a brother-in-law, Harold Howard, and a brother-in-law, Blaine Clayton.
