Charles Denver (Denny) Firestone passed away at his home Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was born on May 11, 1949 to the late Charles R. and Geri (Pritts) Firestone in Connellsville, PA. Denny graduated from Connellsville High School (1967) and was a graduate of University of Pittsburgh, and he had a bachelor's degree in law enforcement from Penn State University and a bachelor's degree in Administration of Justice from the University of Pittsburgh . Denny retired from Square D Corporation in Monroe, NC from the profession of electrical draftsmanship. When Denny retired from the US Air Force, he had achieved the rank of Major. Denny enjoyed Nascar, camping, traveling, and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandsons.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barb, 33 years of marriage, of the home. He is also survived by his daughters, Barbara Livingston, Elizabeth Mann (Kenneth), and Carol Craig, as well as four grandchildren and two great grandsons. He is also survived by his siblings: Kathy Basinger (Frank), Brad Firestone (Rachel), and Lainie Fullem (Kevin).  He will also be sorely missed by numerous family, and friends. Denny loved and treated his pet, Major, Rusty, and Harley and all the cats just like family. Denny and Barb have rescued over fifty animals in the last 34 years.

The family would ask that in lieu of flowers, that you make a donation to your favorite charity in Denny’s name.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM with Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 East Franklin Street Monroe, NC, 28112.
