Gary R Moore

Mr. Gary R. Moore, age 73, of Monroe, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Hospice of Union County. 

The family will receive friends between 3:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday, January 26, in the Dogwood Room of Davis Funeral Service, 1003 East Franklin St, Monroe, NC, 28112. 
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 27, in the Davis Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Chris Whittaker. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. 

Gary was born November 22, 1946, in Bristol, VA, a son of the late James Moore and Margaret Roberts Moore. He was a brick mason and also worked for the Union County School Maintenance Department.

Gary is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Haywood Moore of Monroe, NC, his three daughters; Julie Moore of Monroe, NC, Cindy Tucker (Randy) of Monroe, NC, Melissa Penegar (Ted) of Monroe, NC, six sisters; Cordia Garrett of Richmond, VA, Linda Rowlls of Lafayette, GA, Cleo Epperson of Bristol, TN, Brenda Rowlette of Bristol, TN, Barbara Burnette of Bristol, TN, Shirley Moore of Asheville, NC, a brother, Jimmy Moore of Bristol, TN, three grandchildren; Ashley Therrell (Michael), Daniel Tucker, and Bailee Penegar, two great-grandchildren; Noah Therrell and Jackson Therrell. Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by two sisters; Elizabeth Moore and Mary Ann Crook, and three brothers; Paul Moore, Lee Roy Moore, and Douglas Moore.
