Mr. Herbert C. Hasty, Sr., age 85, of Wingate, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe, North Carolina.

Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at the Davis Funeral Chapel at 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe, officiated by Reverend Frank Crump.  Interment will be follow in Wingate City Cemetery.

Mr. Hasty was born on December 20, 1931, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late K.G. Hasty and Ora Smith Hasty.  He was a retired truck driver for Gate Petroleum.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Yarbrough Hasty in 2015 and his son Herbert (Herbie) Hasty, Jr.  He is also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include two grandsons, Herbert (Trey) Hasty, III and William Michael Hasty and wife, Nickie, all of West Virginia; one sister, Geraldine Hasty Williams and husband, Morris, of Wingate; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law and caregivers, Betty and Elwyn Stegall of Monroe.  There are seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home prior to the service.
