Mr. John Joseph Coonan, Jr., age 68, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, passed away surrounded by his loving wife, Nazly,  Family  and Friends,  Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Hospice House in Monroe.

A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Davis Funeral Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112.

John was born August 7, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late John Joseph Coonan, Sr. and the late Ruth Perry Coonan.

In his earlier years he was the district manager for Amerigas Propane Co. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, reading, and gardening.

He is survived by his wife Nazly E. Coonan of Waxhaw, NC; and his loving brothers and sisters of New York.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM Saturday, April 29, 2017 prior to the memorial service at 1:00 PM at Davis Funeral Chapel.
