Mr. Johnny Ray Cooper, age 69, of Indian Trail, NC, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018 at his residence.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Davis Funeral Service, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112.
A Graveside Service with full military honors for Mr. Cooper will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112, officiated by Victor Dermid.
Johnny was born January 20, 1949 in Union County, NC, a son of Ruth Love Cooper and the late Paul Henry Cooper. Mr. Cooper served our country through his service to United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and returned home a highly decorated Marine receiving three Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. Upon returning home, Johnny was a warehouse supervisor for over 31 years with Goulston in Monroe. A lifelong automotive enthusiast and gearhead, Johnny was a proud member of the Sidewinders Car Club. A man not only dedicated to his country, but his family, Johnny will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Survivors include his loving wife Angela Cooper of Indian Trail, NC, a daughter Shannon Nicole Cooper and future son-in-law Rory Bradley of Indian Trail, NC, a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Land of Indian Trail, NC, a brother, Paul Steven Cooper of Monroe, NC, a brother, Michael Scott Cooper of Monroe, NC, and a granddaughter, Kayleigh Rain Morrison of Indian Trail, NC. Survivors also include numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts.
The family of Mr. Cooper would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Livingston and his staff as well as the Levine Cancer Institute of Ballantyne for their compassionate care and support.
