Mr. Floyd Lynn Hill, age 70, of Supply, NC, passed away Thursday Morning, June 6th, 2019, at his residence.
Lynn’s family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Davis Funeral Service, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112
A Memorial Service for Lynn will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2019 in the Davis Chapel, officiated by Rev. Steve Hill. Interment including full military honors will follow the service, at Waxhaw City Cemetery.
Lynn was born July 14, 1948, in Union County, NC, a son of the late Floyd Walter Hill and Alice Ruth Strawn Hill. Mr. Hill served our country through his service to the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Lynn carried the work ethic he gained during his time in the military throughout his life, and was a truck driver for the United States Postal Service for many years. Although he was known as a hard worker, he is equally remembered for being young at heart. A friend to all that he knew him, Lynn always took the time to offer words of encouragement and support.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 15 years, Gloria Hill, five children; Monica Griffin (Toby), Christopher Scott Hill (Kelly), Robin Lynn Hill, Bryan Helms (Christie), Ann Helms, a sister, Doris Gaddy (Harvey) a brother, Eric Hill (Shirley), two aunts; Ruby Helms (Denny), Patsy Haney (Charles). Survivors also include his 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, as well as his nephews, nieces, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Hill, a brother, Randy Hill, a nephew, Casey Hill, and grandson, Ryan Hill.
