Mr. Mark Avery Mills, age 59, of Wingate, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at his residence.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mark Mills will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Austin Grove Baptist Church, 5919 Austin Grove Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103, officiated by Reverend Leon Whitley and Reverend Tony Medlin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Mills was born on October 16, 1957, In Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late Henry Ellis Mills, Jr and Nora Gladys Phifer Mills. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Mills.

Mark was a supervisor with Cooper Tools with over 30 years of dedicated service.

Survivors include his wife, Polly Tucker Mills of Wingate; two sisters, Kay Davis and husband Rick Davis of Monroe and Ann Baker of Nashville, TN; one brother, Vann Mills of Charlotte; two sisters-in-law, Pat Mills of Chattanooga, TN and Peggy Tucker Brockman of Charleston, SC. There are numerous nieces and nephews Pam Evans, Katy Henry, Tiffany Inman, Chad Baker, Jimmy Baker, April Fraker, Angie Carnes, Mendi Mullis, Daniel Brockman and Tanya Tucker Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 12:30PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Austin Grove Baptist Church.
