Mrs. Mary Lee Rape Mangum, age 91, of Matthews, North Carolina, formerly of Monroe, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Royal P ark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Matthews.

Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Davis Funeral Chapel at 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.  Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Mrs. Mangum was born on February 28, 1926, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late George Vernon Rape and Lula Baker Rape.  She was a retired salesperson for Merle Norman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Leland Mangum and her sister, Emmy Mangum.  She was also preceded by five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include her son, James H. (Jimmy) Mangum of Monroe; her grandchildren, Christy Felder of Matthews, , Melissa Mangum of Monroe, Brian Mangum of Mint Hill; her four great-grandchildren, Riley Outen of Matthews, Nicholas Mangum of Mint Hill, Leeann Putnam of Monroe, Josie Mangum of Mint Hill; and her special niece Pam Walters.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service at Davis Funeral Home.
