Michael Allen Powell

Mr. Michael Allen "Mike" Powell, age 59, of Monroe, NC passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his residence. 

A Celebration of Life service for Michael will be held Wednesday, May 30 at 4:00 PM in the Davis Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Blvd, Monroe, NC 28112, officiated by Weston Davis and Thomas Starnes. 

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3:00PM in the Davis Funeral Chapel. 

Michael was born February 6, 1959 in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of Thomas Powell and the late Donna Brown.A graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Oak Ridge, New Jersey, Michael eventually went on to work as a firefighter and truck captain for the Brookside Engine Company in New Jersey. After Michael relocated to North Carolina, he was the founder of Country Living Inc, a home construction and repair business. In addition to saving lives and building homes, he enjoyed plants and gardening as well as rescuing and providing a home for animals. 

Michael is survived by his wife, Debra Bost, of Monroe, NC, a daughter, Melissa Partin and husband John of Sophia, NC, two sons, Michael T. Powell of Concord, NC, and Gregory C. Powell of Raleigh, NC, as well as his three grandchildren Nora, Gabriel, and Meredith. Survivors also include two sisters; Nancy McCumber of Big Rapids, MI, and Peggy Powell of Lake Hopatcong, NJ.

Although flowers are appreciated, the family requests that memorials in Michael's honor be sent to the Stack Road Volunteer Fire Department, 1900 Stack Rd, Monroe, NC 28112
