Rev. Dr. Earl Wilson Jr.

The Reverend Dr. Earl Wilson, Jr born September 16, 1946, in Bolton, North Carolina, to the late Earl Wilson, Sr and the late Louise (Bland) Wilson passed away at age 71 on July 3, 2018, in Monroe, North Carolina. 

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a memorial service at Wesley Chapel UMC on Thursday, July 12th at 6 pm. 

Earl, Jr. graduated from Berry O’Kelly High School in Raleigh, NC and earned a BA from Shaw University in 1969, and an MDiv from Duke University in 1973. He served the United Methodist Church in various appointments until his retirement in 2012. 

Earl was the beloved husband of Doris (Kinlaw) Wilson who he married in December of 1969. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, LT Earl Wilson, III and his wife, Camilla, of Okinawa, Japan; a daughter, Lindy Overstreet, of Monroe, NC; four grandchildren, Harrison, Emery, Austin, and Cara; and a sister, Linda Richardson, of Newark, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Earl's memory to Wesley Chapel UMC or Central UMC.
