Richard E Canavaciol

Mr. Richard E. Canavaciol, age 59, of Monroe, NC passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at his residence in Monroe.

A service to honor Richard's life will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Davis Funeral Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 6:00 PM in the Davis Funeral Chapel.

Richard was born March 3, 1959 in Queens, NY the son of the late Richard Ralph Canavaciol and Ellen DeRosa Canavaciol. Richard served as a Lt. Commander in the US Navy prior to his work as a Quality Engineer for ConMet in Monroe, NC. Known for his intelligence and strong work ethic, Richard is also warmly remembered for his thoughtful and compassionate character. 

Survivors include his son, David L. Canavaciol of Raleigh, NC, brother Michael Canavaciol and wife Terry of Blue Point, NY, sister Joan Gallagher of Salisbury, NC, and brother James Cavavciol and wife Christie of Unionville, NC. Richard is also survived by several nieces and nephews; Jackie Faber, Mike Canavaciol, Jack Gallagher, and Mackie Gallagher.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his aunt, Alice Patterson.
