Aileen (Griffin) McLain

Aileen Griffin McLain, 91, of Marshville passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Brookdale Senior Living.  Her funeral service will be 12:30 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 in the Davis Funeral Service Chapel, Rev. Travis W. McLain and Rev. Billy Joe McClain officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ritch Cemetery in Indian Trail.  The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Service on Saturday from 11 AM until 12 Noon prior to the service. 

Born February 19, 1932 in Union County, NC she was the daughter of the late James Crawford Griffin and Ocie Rowell Griffin.  She was a member of Living Waters Christian Church and was a former textile employee.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Houston J. McLain in 2010, daughter Sandy Jamerson, son Rev. Gary McLain, daughter Cynthia Gail McLain, granddaughter Wendy Helms, great-grandson Noah Helms, sister Frankie Mae Smith and brother Ron Griffin.  Survivors include son Steve McLain and wife Ginger of Monroe, daughter-in-law Debbie McLain, brother Earl Griffin of Monroe, sister Faye Godwin of Monroe, 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
