Mrs. Bobbie Jean Funderburk Lee was born on November 26, 1933 in Union Co., NC, a daughter of the late Carl Funderburk and Kathleen Williams Funderburk. Bobbie spent her life giving back to her community and all those around her. She volunteered with Hospice, the Baptist Association and with Gideons International Monroe. Her dedication to mission trips and spreading her love of Christ took her all over the world including Korea, the Holy Lands and up and down the east coast of the United States. Above all else, Bobbie loved God, her husband, her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. No matter what else was going on, she always made time to listen and care for them. Bobbie believed in living life to the fullest and enjoyed quilting and cooking. She made the best homemade biscuits and always cooked more than enough to feed everyone. Bobbie lived her testimony every single day and her journey on this side of eternity is complete.
Those left to carry on Bobbie's memory include her husband of 68 years, Jesse Raeford Lee; her son Steve Lee (Tammy); her son Phillip Lee (Billie Ann); her three grandchildren, Sammie Joe Stamey (Adam), Carla Bowers (Phillip), Michael Lee (Neza Mae); her eight great grandchildren, Memphis, Patience, Makenna, Payton, Clayton, Andrew, Mikayla, Madison; and her sister in law, Peggy Funderburk.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death and reunited in eternal life with her brother, Keith Funderburk (Lois); her brother, Richard Funderburk; and her sister, Betty Melton (Walter).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Bobbie's honor be made to Gideons International Monroe, 819 N. Charlotte Avenue, Monroe, NC, 28110, an organization she spent her life volunteering toward.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Cindy Dellinger and Miriam Love for their compassionate care.
