Cecil Musselwhite

Cecil Musselwhite, 83, of Oakboro passed away on December 14, 2022 in Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthews.  His funeral service will be 2 PM on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Lakeview Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Tyson and Rev. Billy Atkins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Service on Saturday evening from 6 until 8 PM. 

Born August 17, 1939 in Robeson County, NC, he was the son of the late Emory Musselwhite and Martha Galloway Musselwhite.  He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was a Turkey Farmer and a Cabinetmaker and woodworker.  He served for many years as a Deacon and also Sunday School Teacher at Mill Creek Baptist Church.  For many years he was a member of the Three Oaks Hunting Club and also enjoyed archery and fishing as well. 

Mr. Musselwhite is survived by his wife of 65 years Barbara Williams Musselwhite of the home.  Other surviors include children Vickie Jenkins (Chris) of Monroe and Marty Musselwhite of Oakboro, siblings Lillie Mills of Wingate, Michael Musselwhite of Wingate, half-sister Pauline Stone of Illinois, one grandchild Erin Honeycutt (John) of Indian Trail, three great-grandchildren Wyatt, Mason and Lincoln.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 8 half-brothers and half-sisters and 6 full brothers and sisters.
