Dianne (Craig) Starnes

Dianne Craig Starnes, 80, of Monroe passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 in Atrium Health Union.  Her funeral service will be 11 AM on Tuesday May 16, 2023 at Prospect Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Hines officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 AM at the church prior to the service. 

Born July 21, 1942 in Union County, NC she was the daughter of the late Lewis Ervin Craig and Ellie Mae Alexander Craig.  She was a beautician and a member of Prospect Methodist Church.  She was a dedicated member of the church and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. After retirement she and her husband toured the country on their motorcycle. 

Mrs. Starnes was preceded in death by her husband Judge B. Starnes Jr.  Survivors include son Michael Starnes (Christina) of Monroe, daughters Robin Covington (Mark) of Greensboro, and Michelle Sullivan (Jack) of Monroe, brother Murphy Craig of Monroe, 6 grandchildren: Benson Covington, Sam Covington, Abigail Feranda (Joey), Gabe Hough, Mason Starnes, and Erin Sullivan, 1 great-granddaughter Ava Kitchen.
