Donnie Lee Melton, 67, of Monroe passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. His funeral service will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Prospect Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Darren Deese officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Davis Funeral Service of Monroe.
Born December 10, 1954 in Monroe, NC, he was the son of the late Codus W. Melton and Jerena Burgess Melton. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Prospect Southern Methodist Church. Mr. Melton was retired as a Sales Engineer with L & H Reps.
Mr. Melton is survived by his wife, Debra Gaddy Melton of the home. Other survivors include children Monica Kay Melton Hammel (Chris Hammel), Tracey Carpenter-Barnwell (Jerry Barnwell), and Robert Warren Melton (Chloe Stokes), sisters Joyce M. Gill, Carol M. Wolfe (Tom), Jeanne M. Deese, Suzanne M. Young (Richard), Terry M. Boyle (Stephen), and sister-in-law Linda M. Melton, and grandchildren, Michael S. Melton, Tori Hammel, Caroline Barnwell, Coltan Hayes, Mackenzie Hayes (Dylan Hasty), Skylar Hayes, Ethan Hayes, Adelina Melton, and Jayce Codus Melton as well as great-grandchildren Everleigh Hasty and Cohen Hasty. He was preceded in death by brothers Jerry T. Melton, Wayne C. Melton, and Bobby M. Melton.
