Obituary

Mrs. Doris Myers Ellinger, age 95, formerly of Monroe, NC, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 in Davenport, FL. 

A graveside service for Doris will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Hwy, Monroe, NC, 28112, officiated by Rev. Frank Crump. 

Doris was born February 2, 1925, in Lititz, PA, a daughter of the late Roy G. Myers and Beulah Sturgis Myers. Doris was married to her husband Eugene in November of 1952, and the couple relocated to North Carolina in the 1960's. Union County was home to Doris and her husband for over 30 years. Throughout her life, Doris' greatest passion was her family. She was also an active member of Central United Methodist Church in Monroe. A dedicated mother and wife who took time to appreciate the simple things in life, she will be greatly missed, and never forgotten. 

Doris is survived by her son, Michael Eugene Ellinger (Patti), a sister, Lois Shank, her daughter-in-law, Tara Ellinger, her grandchildren, Joshua Ellinger and Meghan May, and her great-grandchildren, Juliette May and Avery May. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Richard Ellinger, her son, John Robert Ellinger, and her brother, Bruce Myers.
