Ethel Battle

Ethel Battle passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Monroe Rehabilitation Center, where she resided for over 15 years. Her funeral service will be 2pm Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Davis Funeral Service. The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Service from 1pm until 1:45pm prior to the service.

Ms. Battle was born April 16, 1925 (98 years old) in Peach County, Georgia. After graduating from Hunt High School in Fort Valley Georgia, yearning for a more productive life, Ethel relocated to New York to be closer to her sister, the late Beatrice Battle.  She was the youngest of six children, preceded in death by four sisters, Bessie Davis, Lessie Clark, Beatrice Battle and Leila Smith and one brother, Albert Battle, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Rita (Cookie) Wilson; sons, Donald Selby (Pandora) and Ashford Wilson; granddaughters, Nichole Bulter, Naomi Selby, Valeria Hough Cohens, and Vanessa Hough Dixon; grandson, Brad Hough; nieces, Judy Battle, Pat Austin and a host of relatives in Michigan and Miami.
