Mr. Eulon S. Reid, age 89, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at his residence.
Graveside funeral services with military rites will be conducted at 3:30 PM Monday, June 22, 2020, at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112, officiated by Reverend Eddie Price.
Mr. Reid was born on May 10, 1931, in Elkton, Kentucky, a son of the late Ursie Reid and the late Ida Perry Reid. He was married to the late Flossie Irene Stowers Reid.
He was also preceded in death by three daughters, Darlene Auger, Doris Blaylock, and Patricia Hurley; and two sisters, Edna Salinas and Betty Reid.
Eulon had a career in the US Armed Forces. He was in the US Army, a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War. He served an additional 21 years as a Technical Sargent in the Us Air Force Services. He later worked for the State of North Carolina as a mechanic custodian at East Elementary School in Monroe.
Survivors include a son, Darrell Carpenter of Concord, NC; two sisters, Helen Long of Las Vegas, NV and Jewell Jackson of Morganfield, KY; and his beloved four legged companion, Toby.
There are 8 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and 8 great- great grandchildren.
