James "Jim" Lewis Wallace, Sr.

James “Jim” Lewis Wallace, Sr., 73, of Williamsburg, Va., passed away on October 5, 2023, in his home.  His funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, October 12, 2023, in the Davis Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Shane Freeman officiating.  The family will receive friends between 1 and 2 PM, prior to the service.

Born December 3, 1949, in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Albert Willard “Jack” Wallace and Betty James Cathey Wallace. He was a Charlotte City police officer for 10 years before becoming successful working in sales of gaging and inspection equipment.

Jim was an avid saltwater fisherman.  He loved cooking flounder, watching baseball and NASCAR races, and being with Barbara and their friends.  He was happiest in his boat on the water, spending time with his grandchildren, and being called Granddaddy. 

Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 55 years, Barbara Jean Faires Wallace of the home.  Other survivors include children Leslie Wallace Helms (Andy), James Lewis “Jimmy” Wallace, Jr. (Jaime), siblings Donny Wallace (Teressa) of Spartanburg, SC, and Patsy Townsend (Jerry) of Charlotte, grandchildren Avery, Leigha, Alli, Kendall, Aubrie and Callan, great-grandchild Tripp and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
