Jerry Cecil Earnhardt

Jerry C Earnhardt, 76, of Wingate passed away on July 27, 2023 at the Atrium Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe.  His funeral service will be on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 11 AM at Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Paul Willis officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Service on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 PM. 

Born March 26, 1947 in Cabarrus County, NC he was the son of the late Jacob Allen Earnhardt and Essie Brown Earnhardt.  He was a member of Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene and was a retired Patrolman with the NC Highway Patrol. He served from 1966-1970 in the United States Marine Corps, where he was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort in Beaufort, South Carolina. He loved the beach, cooking and spending time with his family.  He was known most recently by the faculty and staff of Wingate University for exercise walking around campus every morning with his walking sticks. 

Mr. Earnhardt is survived by his wife Patricia “Pat” Beaver Earnhardt of the home, children Robin Schwartz (Randy) of Indian Trail and Gerald Earnhardt of Wingate, sister Barbara Daniels (Wayne) of Rowan County, two grandchildren Olivia Stapivic (Elijah) of Florida and Ryan Schwartz of Indian Trail.  A brother Floyd L. Earnhardt preceded him in death in 1971.
