Mr. Jimmy Joe Mauriscio II, age 50, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Atrium Health Union.
A Memorial Service to honor Jimmy's life will be held on at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the H. Vann Davis III Memorial Chapel of Davis Funeral Service, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112, led by Deacon Jim Hamrlik of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Jimmy was born August 26, 1971, in Pittsburgh, California, a son of Jimmy Joe Mauriscio and Tommie Marlene Rodriguez Mauriscio. Jimmy lived life to the fullest, taking the time to enjoy every moment. A man who always spoke his mind, you always knew where you stood with him. Affectionately known as Jimmy Joe or Little Jim by those who were close to him, he was a man who made an impact on anyone he met. Throughout his life, Jimmy had an incredible mechanical ability and the knowledge to build anything. An employee of Barton Contracting, he displayed that his knowledge in construction was as strong as his work ethic. Although he was a hard worker, he also took time to appreciate life and value time with the ones around him. Cooking was a love language to Jimmy, and he could often be found cooking for the ones he loved. Whether it was a deep fried turkey at Thanksgiving, prime rib at Christmas, or earning his title as grill master from his famous barbeque brisket, he always put his special touch on anything he prepared. Part of preparing a meal was the reward of spending time with his family, which Jimmy loved more than anything. Always present at his daughter's wrestling matches, watching NASCAR races, or attending country concerts, his favorite activities were the things the family did together. A man who did things his own way, and reminded his family of his love for them through more than just words, Jimmy will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all who loved him too.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish Jimmy's memory include his loving wife of 16 years, Leighann Mauriscio; his son, Jimmy Joe Mauriscio III; his son, Jacob Bush; his daughter, Julieann "Kitty" Mauriscio; his son, Jameson Mauriscio; his son, Jaxson Mauriscio; his sister, Marissa Mauriscio; his brother, Maurice Mauriscio; his granddaughter, Karina Mauriscio; his granddaughter, Belle Mauriscio; and his grandmother, Dorothy Rodriguez. Jimmy is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
