Judy Melton Helms

Mrs. Judy Melton Helms, age 66, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at her residence.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Prospect United Methodist Church, 6020 Prospect Road, Monroe, North Carolina, 28112, officiated by Reverend Ricky Baker and Reverend Michael Harris.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Helms was born on July 23, 1954, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Crayton Ray Melton and the late Wincie Corrine Starnes Melton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Roscoe (CR) Helms; a son, Chris Helms; and a brother, Reverend Elwin Melton.

Judy was the deli manager of Roughedge Trading Company.

Survivors include a daughter, Crystal Hasty and husband Donnie of Monroe; three grandchildren, Brook Helms, Joy Helms and Casey (CJ) Helms all of Monroe; two brothers, Herbert Melton of Monroe, Jackie Melton and wife Nancy of Monroe; three sisters, Nelda McDonald and husband Paul of Charlotte, Tommie Stegall and husband Walter of Monroe, and Ellen Cox and husband Butch of Monroe; a sister in law, Ora Lee Melton of Winston-Salem; and a special aunt, Brenda Harrington.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, North Carolina, 28112.

The family asks that you wear a mask if you plan on attending the services.
