Kay's family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 5, 2021, in the H. Vann Davis III Memorial Chapel of Davis Funeral Service, 1003 East Franklin St., Monroe, NC 28112
A Celebration of Kay's life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 6, 2021, at Davis Funeral Service, officiated by Dr. Shad Hicks. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.
Kay was born January 8, 1952, in Anson County, NC, a daughter of the late Marion Thomas Baker and Eva Allen Baker. A woman of dedication, Kay retired from Mutual Industries after 38 years of service. Although she was a hard worker who put pride into her career, she was often heard that being a wife, mother, and grandmother were the greatest accomplishments of her life. The brightness in her eyes shone even more anytime she spoke about her son or grandchildren. As kind as she was smart, she always took time to listen and knew just what to say when asked for advice. A joy to be around, she placed importance on bringing happiness into the lives of others. To know Kay was a blessing, and she will be dearly remembered and always cherished by those who will carry her memory on.
Kay is survived by her son, Thomas Ashley Threadgill, three sisters: Eva, Jessie, and Derline, two brothers, Lanny and Thomas, her granddaughter, Ashlyn Shea Threadgill Oxendine, her grandson, Landon Thomas Threadgill, four great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Dennis Threadgill, brother-in-law Rick Threadgill (Theresa), sister-in-law Amy Threadgill Ford (Todd), her niece, Heather Threadgill, and her three nephews, Brandon Threadgill, Chris Threadgill, and Andrew Ford.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death and reunited in eternal life with her husband of 46 years, Thomas Ray Threadgill.
Kay's family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Union County for the kindness shown and compassionate care provided.
