Obituary

Linda Sue Smith McIver, 87, of Monroe, NC passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 in her home. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. 

Born February 1, 1935 in Lincolnton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Smith and Annie Maude Blackburn Smith.  She was a real estate agent and broker in Fort Lauderdale and Plantation Florida for 20 years and former employee of Belk Department Store.  She was a Sunday School Teacher while living in Florida.  After moving to Marshville, she became a member of Marshville United Methodist Church and chaired the Altar Guild. She is currently a member of Benton Heights Presbyterian Church.  Mrs. McIver and her husband Jack were involved in developing the Marshville Museum in Marshville and she was President of the Board at the Village of Woodridge Retirement Community. 

Mrs. McIver is survived by her husband Jack G. McIver of the home, 2 sons Jack L. McIver (Cheryl) of Peachland and Bradley Nathan McIver (Christine) of Coconut Creek, FL, two grandchildren Jack A. McIver of Matthews and Ana C. McIver of Avon Park, FL, 3 great-grandchildren, Aaron McIver, Brayson McIver and Nathan Easterday.  A brother Bobby Lee Smith preceded her in death.
