Funeral Services to honor Lydia's life will be held in the H. Vann Davis III Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Don Thompson. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church of Indian Trail.
Lydia was born July 1, 1924 in Monroe, NC, a daughter of the late Charlie Manus and Eva Ashley Manus. She was married in 1941 to George W. Medlin Jr., and the couple called Union County home for many decades. A resident of Indian Trail for over 40 years, Lydia was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail since 1965. Throughout her life, her love and devotion was to God and her family. When not in church, she was often found reading her bible or listening to the gospel music she enjoyed. Her activities were always things that she could share with family. Whether cooking, working in her garden, canning, or quilting, she loved having her family involved. Lydia was famous for her cooking, and also the snow cream she'd make in the winter and freeze for her grandchildren to enjoy during the summer. Leaving behind a legacy of faith and family, Lydia's memory will be carried on by her family for generations to come.
Lydia is survived by her children; Georgia Primavera, Katie Bierlair, Eric Medlin (Pam), her 7 grandchildren Tracey Livingood (Jerry), Tina Whitesides, Rita Bierlair, Daren Bierlair, Danny Medlin (Rhonda), Alex Medlin (Monica), Amanda Carden (Kevin), 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and two great-great-grandchildren on the way.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death and reunited in eternal life with her husband, George W. Medlin Jr., her nine brothers and sisters, and her great-grandson, Randal Eddings Jr.
