Margaret Elaine (Baker) Gentzle

Margaret “Marj” Elaine Baker Gentzle, 70, of Monroe passed away on February 14, 2022 at Atrium Health Union.  A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in the Davis Funeral Service Chapel.  The family will greet friends at Davis Funeral Service from 10 until 11 prior to the hour of the service. 

Born February 18, 1951 in Lucas County, OH, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Charles Baker and Elizabeth Jenkins Sprake Baker.  Marj was of the Christian Faith and was a retired CPA.  She loved dogs and enjoyed quilting, cross stitch, and reading.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.  Marj was a mom to everyone who needed her and everyone who entered her home.  She was known as Mom, and later Nana to all who loved her.  She was also a true caregiver to those she loved and she opened her home to many who needed somewhere to go, down through the years. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Terrence Orr in 2019.  Survivors include son Kyle Gould of Matthews, daughters Piper Marquette (Matthew) of Choteau, MT and Brandi Stancil of Fort Mill, SC, two sisters Nina Bayer of TX, and Lola Heinze Satoe of TX, 9 grandchildren: Keegan Marquette, Gabrielle Stancil, Brandon Stancil, Maia Marquette, Zane Gould, Porter Marquette, Graham Marquette, Leila Marquette, and Everli Marquette.
