Marquitta Rebecca Hammond was born with Downs Syndrome. She was interested in program since she was three months old starting off with a home program then we transferred her into a program called pact parents and children together she graduated from that at the age of 2 and went to York Road Elementary starting kindergarten actually Pre-K she stayed there until She went to Armstead Gardens Main Stream Elementary school. She then went to the Special Needs school Claremont High School across the street. Then she went to Baltimore County at the Battle Monument where she graduated 2001 with full cap and gown....
She went to The Arc of Baltimore until we move in 2013 to Monroe, North Carolina, In 2014 Her Step dad Myron bought her a rag doll she called baby. She always kept it with her no matter where she went (to Work, Church, out to Lunch). She joined Union Diversified on Walk-up Avenue in 2015... her job there was putting together PCP pipe plus other social skills. She really loved the program, enjoyed getting up every morning, catching the van and then returning home. She really liked that program. She loved every Sunday at Eastwood Forrest Baptist Church, going to church singing in the choir being very spiritual. She often went to the Alter and prayed for others. She enjoyed Sunday school and she had a wonderful time in the Lord!!! After church her favorite thing to do was to go out to lunch. Her favorite lunch (she enjoyed Chinese food), Roast Pork Lo Mein fried rice and wonton soup. But in general she enjoyed chicken to. Marquitta will be very missed by many people. She and Baby are in the Arms of Jesus. Amen!
