Michael Ray Mitchell

Mr. Michael Ray Mitchell, age 61, of Marshville, North Carolina passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Saturday, August 21, 2021.  

The celebration of Michael’s life will be held Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at his home in Marshville, North Carolina at 12:00 pm. 

Michael was born on November 20, 1959, a son of the late Morris and Carolyn Mitchell. He enjoyed many years of working for Jenkins Concrete, with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Boyce and Amanda Jenkins. Michael was a devoted father, loving husband, awesome brother, and a wonderful friend to many. As kind and honest as they come, Michael donated much of his time and energy to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. He was a gifted carpenter and loved being outdoors. Michael spent many nights fishing, camping, and four wheeling and loved to sit around a bonfire (the bigger the better, in his eyes). He enjoyed walking around car shows and spending time at the beach with his family. Michael touched the lives of many on this side of eternity and will be missed tremendously by all that knew and loved him. 

Those left to cherish Michael's memory include his loving wife, Sheila Mitchell; his brother, Buddy Mitchell; his son Mitchell Williams (Amber); his daughter Amy Williams (fiancé Chris); his four grandchildren, Christian, Carly, Parker and Blakely Williams; and his canine companion, Peanut. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Mitchell; his mother and father in-law Bobbi and Jackie Jenkins; his sister-in-law Sherry Strickland; and his nephew Shane Jenkins. 

Michael’s family is thankful for all the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time.
