Mitchell Layne Griffin

Mitchell Layne Griffin, 66, of Polkton passed away on October 13, 2022 in Atrium Health Anson.  His funeral will be 2 PM on Monday, October 17, 2022 in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM prior to the hour of the service. 

Born September 16, 1956 in Union County, NC he was the son of the late Layne Griffin and Shirley Tarleton Griffin.  Mr. Griffin was a singer and song writer.  He loved Elvis movies and all music, especially religious music.  Amazing Grace was his favorite song.  He was the lead guitarist and lead singer for the band, Blue Rebellion. 

Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife Susie Griffin of the home, children Tammy Love (Scott) of Indian Trail,  Missy Walden of Monroe,  and Tony Walden of Monroe, brother Todd Griffin of Wingate and sister Judy Burrier of Indian Land, SC, 4 grandchildren Spencer, Tiffany, Tyler, and Avery, and one great-grandson Xavier. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Davis Funeral Service.
