Mrs. Patricia Stewart Amos, age 66, of Concord, NC passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
A Memorial Service honoring Patty’s life will be held later this Spring.
Patty was born August 18, 1954 in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late Russell Charles Stewart and Jane Brantley Winchester Thomas. Our world will remember Patty as a compassionate nurse, detailed crime scene investigator & determined fighter. To those of us that loved her, and ache with her passing, know Patty by the other titles she held: Wife. Sister. Mother. Nana. Sometimes "Peggy", but always a friend.
Patty is survived by her husband, Garland Frank Amos, her daughter, Renee Bumgarner (Michael), her daughter, Kimberly Thomas (Chris), her daughter, Beverly Giarette (Fred), her son, Patrick Amos, her brother, Robert Stewart (Vickie), her niece, Jessica Morris(Ken), her grandchildren; Brittany Beck (Seth), Jessica Wilson (Derek), Ragan Aron (Kelsey), Candra Giarette (Richard), Emily Giarette (Johnny), Molly Giarette, Meagan Giarette, and two great-grandchildren. Patty's granddaughter, Brittany authored these thoughts which capture that of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren:
Our Nana Patty has gone home to be with the Lord, guided by her faith and those we have loved and lost before her. At last she is reunited with them again, leaving us with grief and sadness, the memories we made with her, the good deeds she did, and the love and light that shined so brightly because of her.
As we look back on the words many of you have used to describe our Nana: Remarkable, loving, kind, compassionate, fun, beautiful, strong, determined one of a kind. The list goes on and it's hard to pick just one word that truly embodies Patty. The one that sticks out the most to us is remarkable. She was a remarkable mother, remarkable wife, remarkable Nana, remarkable sister, and remarkable friend. She was remarkably funny, remarkably loving and kind, and remarkably compassionate to anyone she crossed paths with. They tell you to keep your memories close so she may live on long after she is gone, but we think the best way to keep her with us is to love as big as she did. Be kind to everyone, just as she would have been and show compassion for others. We challenge all of you to keep her spirit alive by doing the same. May God bless her and may she rest in eternal peace.
In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by a brother, William R. “Winky” Stewart.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Patty’s honor be made to Pink Pals of Concord, PO Box 1816, Concord, NC 28025 or Heavenly Oats Ministries, PO Box 2022, Concord, NC 28026
