Rose Mankin

Ms. Rose Mary Mankin, age 87, of Monroe, NC, passed away on October 25, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living. 

Services as special as Rose will be announced at a later date by the family. 

Rose was born on April 14, 1943 in Vinton County, OH, a daughter of the late Albert Aaron Kirkendall and Faye Catherine Roof. Rose was born and raised in OH, but spent her later years in Monroe, NC. Known as spunky and caring, she always left her door open for her neighbors and visitors to drop by anytime. Although she will be greatly missed and her memory cherished forever, the family finds comfort in knowing she has begun her eternal life with her Lord and Savior. 

Those left to cherish and carry-on Rose’s memory include her son, Michael Aaron Mankin; her daughter, Ronda Jo Mankin Beck; her five grandchildren, Hillary Beck Haiduc (Michael), Madelyn Beck Coates (Jordan), Dustin Townsend (Kelly), Shawn Hucks (Tracy), and Suzanne Hicks; her 6 great-grandchildren with one on the way and her brother, Roy Kirkendall (Judie). 

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death and reunited in eternal life with the father of her children, Gale Mankin; her daughter, Deborah Townsend; her daughter, Lee Ann Hood; and her grandson, Jeffrey Townsend.
