Sarah Forester Obituary

Mrs. Sarah Mauldin Forester, age 65, of Monroe, NC, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Atrium Health Union due to complications from COVID-19.

Sarah was born August 20, 1955  in Richmond County, NC. to the late Roy C. Maudlin and Effie Mauldin. Sarah resided in Monroe for 41 years with her husband, James Henry Forester, of 40 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and wonderful sister. Family meant the most to Sarah, which was evident through the unconditional love she shared with her brothers, sisters, children and most of all her grandchildren. Her favorite name was Grandma Sarah and her smile would light up the room when she was in their presence. Sarah was a beautiful, loving, giving and compassionate woman inside and out. She had the biggest heart and had a natural way of making everyone feel special and welcomed. Sarah loved to cook and visit with family and friends, always bringing her crowd pleasing chicken and dumplings.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Forester of Monroe, her son, Stephen Forester (Tina) of Monroe, her daughter, Dee Dee Williams of Monroe; her Mother-in-Law, Doris B. Teeter of Monroe; her sisters; Diane Stack (Dennis) of MN, Pattie Long of Holden Beach, Brenda Jordan (Johnny) of Hamlet, Vickie Rankin (Hugo) of Rockingham, Susan Williams (David) of Shallotte, and Kim Mauldin of Myrtle Beach, her brothers; Roy Mauldin (Teresa)  of Rockingham, Roger Mauldin of Rockingham, Ronnie Mauldin (Martha) of Rockingham, Larry Mauldin (Sonya) of Georgia, James Mauldin (Faye) of Rockingham, her brother-in-law, Alvin Forester (Barbara)  of Monroe and Douglas Forester (Glenda) of VA; grandchildren, Chandler Williams, Chad Forester, Levi Forester and Landyn Forester; great-grandchildren, William and Dallas Forester, 31 nieces and nephews and 59 great nieces and nephews, lifelong friends Steve and Jolene Godrey, as well as many other dear friends too numerous to name.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by a nephew, Buddy Jordan.

The family will be honoring Sarah's life at a later date. In lieu of cards, the family requests donations be made in Sarah's honor to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
