Vincent “Vinny” Edward Ianne, 86, of Westbury, NY passed away on October 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in his Monroe, NC home.
Born July 11th, 1937, in Jamaica (Queens), NY, he was the son of the late Peter and Grace Ianne and older brother to Robert “Bobby” Ianne who spent most of their lives calling Long Island, NY their home. He was a veteran of the United States Army Quartermaster Corps and later worked in the carpentry field followed by the golf/turf equipment industry. He was a sales, service, and parts master specialist who truly loved visiting the many beautiful golf courses New York had to offer.
Vinny was an avid sports fan, being most happy supporting his daughter (Tricia)in travel gymnastics along with his son (Vinny Jr.) racing competitive go karts all over the country. He had a passion for bowling, NASCAR, horse racing, and following his beloved New York Yankees and Rangers Teams! Music also played an integral part of his life as he could be found constantly playing his favorites from all genres or attending local concerts.
His priority was spending time with his family, starting with the love of his life Betty, as they had been together for nearly 50 years. He would do anything for her and was always striving to take care of the family as best he could. They retired to the Charlotte, NC area to be closer to their grandchildren and grand animals as he loved being “Pops” as they grew up. Vinny was a gentle soul and kind person who could befriend anyone as he loved striking up conversations. These traits shined through to his love of animals also, he truly cherished the extended families’ dogs and cats.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years and best friend, Betty Ann Ianne. Other survivors include his daughter, Patricia (Tricia) Ianne of Monroe, NC, son Vincent (Vinny) Ianne and wife Allison of Fort Mill, SC, grandchildren Jeremy and Scarlett along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, brother & sister in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
