Wade was born February 19, 1947, in Union County, NC, a son of the late Clayton Fowler and Edwina Mullinax Fowler. Wade graduated from Parkwood High School in 1965, where to this day he holds the track record for the fastest mile. After high school, he was drafted for the Vietnam War. Mr. Fowler served our country through his service to the United States Marine Corps. After returning home, Wade became involved in the electrical industry, and went on to become the vice president of Steele Electric until he began working for himself in 1993. Not only was Wade a hard worker, he enjoyed what he did. Always willing to help, many times he was found helping others not for profit, but out of the goodness of his heart. Wade's abilities went far beyond the electrical field; there was nothing he could not build. When he wasn't working, he was spending time with his family. A dedicated father and grandfather, his world revolved around his son, his daughter-in-law, and his grandchildren. Never missing the chance to watch practice, or a game, he was his grandchildren's biggest fan. Even his favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, was all about a celebration of family. Whether cooking things the old fashioned way, watching football, or playing cards, Wade cherished spending every moment with the ones he loved. Lovingly remembered by his family as a kind and generous soul who was witty and quick, Wade will be forever missed, and never forgotten.
Wade is survived by his son, Clay Fowler and wife Crystal, and his grandchildren, Austin Fowler and Brooke Fowler.
